Living in Tampa, Florida

Before looking for a Realtor in Tampa, Florida you may want to know a little about some of the different areas and what will be around your new home. Tampa, Florida has an enormous variety of attractions for those who live in and around the city. Busch Gardens, the Florida Aquarium, International Plaza, and Lowry Park Zoo are some of the more notable attractions.

Busch Gardens is the largest amusement park full of roller coasters around without taking the two hour drive over to Orlando. The Florida Aquarium in downtown Tampa has an amazing variety of sea creatures, a water park for smaller children, and some additional paid experiences like diving with the sharks.

International Plaza is the well known higher end mall in the area offering many of the higher end stores and dining options. Lowry Park Zoo is pretty nice and has some very interesting animal feeding experiences, but is best reserved for very cold days as it is a lot of walking in the heat.

Then there’s Ybor City, where visitors can find hand-rolled cigars and Cuban sandwiches. Every year, the Gasparilla Pirate Festival celebrating the pirate heritage is probably the biggest event of the entire year.

Typically the weather in Tampa offers bright sunny days and calm breezes, with an annual temperature averaging around 72 degrees. The area has a variety of natural beaches, lakes and rivers that create unique opportunities for snorkeling, diving, sailing, excellent saltwater fishing, and sunbathing.

Tampa Bay offers a great nightlife scene with plenty of variety.  Every night there will be bar and nightclub action tailored to upscale partygoers,  such as International Plaza’s Bay Street and Channelside. The SoHo district offers the chance to mix and mingle with friends, while Ybor City is widely known as a wilder place to be. at night.
